Special manufacturing

For over than 50 years Ust-Katav car-building plant has been beating the path to new ideas, structures and technologies of jet engines. It ensures that national rocket and space engineering is highly respected and has priority achievements.

UKCP factory was first engaged in the USSR space program in 1961. From that year and till present, the company manufactures engines for Soyuz manned spacecraft and Progress cargo spacecrafts. The company participated in the largest national space project named Energiya-Buran.

The company also mastered serial manufacturing for modernized manned and cargo spacecrafts named Soyuz-TM, Progress-M, Soyuz-TMA, Progress-TMA, which were formerly used to deliver astronauts and cargo to the Mir space station, and now—to the International Space Station. Test Manufacturing Department, Engineering Department and laboratory and test facility ensure testing of new engineering processes, as well as bench runs when making engines.
